Itis hard to believe that the year 2011 has passed so quickly. I have enjoyed mytime in the US from May to December. I return to Uganda on December 29. I willbe in Uganda to start the New Year.

2012holds many new and exciting ministry opportunities for me. The CWWC in Moyowill graduate a class of 56 women making our total there 120. I am expecting tosee great changes as these women go back to their villages and begin sharingwhat they have learned.

2011 New picture

CWWCwill start a new class in Moyo beginning in August 2012. Another CWWC schoolwill be started as well in Bushenyi district. Bushenyi district is about 10hours from Jinja to the West. CWWC had a school there in 2006-07. PastorsBlazio and Stempson from this area have been calling for us to come again. A new work with a Health Center III inBushenyi District will begin at this same time. This Health Center is nearPastor Blazio’s church. We will have a partnership in helping with the drugshere. More details as I make a survey trip there in February 2012.

Severalvolunteers and teams are coming to help me in ministry in 2012. I would love foryou to come and help too! Please contact me for more information.

Field and Stream
My brother n law, Dan Witt, had an article about the death of his father. The article is wonderful! It really shares his brother and his feelings about losing a father. But what has come out of that is amazing.

It has been more than a month since I have posted. Things have been going great.

My Mom had a fall in July; she didn't break anything but at her age she had a long recovery. I stayed with her for 6 weeks. Then I felt like I was able to start traveling again.

On September 17, the women on mission at Unity Baptist had a mission pray breakfast. I was the speaker. It was a great time. A lot of friends came and we had a great devotion from Beth Maynard. I spoke about how to pray for missionaries from Colossians 1:9-14. You find a lot of prayers written in the Bible. I believe we should use them to help us in our prayer lives.

I would love these verse to be prayed for me every day. On November 6 the US will fall back one hour that will mean in Uganda I will be 8 hours ahead of you. You will go to bed as I am getting up. Please pray for me as you go to sleep that my day in Uganda will be a successful one.

I am enjoying the fall leaves. Today I am in Atlanta, GA down 85 South staying with my good friends the Deans. I have been visiting all my friends in the Atlanta area. I spoke at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Jackson, GA on Wednesday night for their missions conference. What a blessing the family at Lighthouse has been in the past 10 years with their faithful support for me in Uganda.

On Sunday I will be in Stockbridge, GA at NewPoint Church speaking in the morning service. I am excited to see some old friends there as well.

I will travel back to Lynchburg on Monday and wash clothes and head back to Ashland on Thursday. Need to finish the DVD that my publicist, Leah Lockhart, has helped me to do. Leah is also designing my own web site to be ready in a few weeks see me at www.dianaferrell.com.

Justto let you know a little of what is happening in Moyo, during our June classseveral of the ladies reported that the women in their village were jealous oftheir having a Bible, knowing how to read it and understand it. Many of ourwomen this time are from the Catholic Church and they are so excited to be ableto understand what the Bible has to say on so many subjects. Also thecatechists of these Catholic ladies want to come for our discipleship classes.The students are telling them how much they are learning in God’s Word.

CWWC in Moyo

Students in Class

While I have been home CWWC has continued tomeet in Moyo. The students came in June. They will meet again in August andOctober.

Eventhough I am home, I need to send the money for this training to continue. Ittakes $3000 for each week of training. That provides for the transport, foodand study materials for these 56 women. It also provides for lodging, food and fuel for Elizabeth and the team.

Ihave learned that some of you didn’t know that the CWWC training school is aboarding school. The women are brought for one week out of their villages to acentral location. In Moyo, it is the District Farm Institute. Just like us ifthey tried to come every day from home there would always be something thatcame up to make them miss a day or two. To solve this problem the women come toschool for the whole week without distractions.

Pleasecontinue to pray for Elizabeth, her team and the students as the come for thisyear’s remaining classes. When I return there will betwo more classes January and graduation in March.

Today I really miss Uganda. I miss my friends, family and most especially the women I teach. Elizabeth and the ladies are in school this week in Moyo. I can't wait to hear the stories of what has happened in their lives while we were a part. Also the report on what went on this week.

Inflation is hitting Uganda hard. The price of sugar when I left in May was 2200 ush now the price is anywhere from 6,000 to 15,000 ush reported in Moyo District. The dollar to shilling exchange rate is $1 = 2670 ush. Wow! I don't know how families are going to be able to eat.

As you can see I need to really raise more support on a monthly basis for the ministries I am involved with. The CWWC takes about $3500 to feed and transport 56 women in the Moyo training school for just one week. The cost of medicines has risen as well. My help in the 2 children's wards is about $2500 now for medicines and staff costs. Even for me to live will go up at least to $2000 a month.

Please pray with me that God will supply these financial needs as I return to Uganda in December 2011

Just wanted to say things are getting better.

Although there is not a lot of money in my account at the home office

it won't be in a negative balance any more.

Please continue to pray for my support. Right now I think I'm about

45%. I have to do the math but it feels that way.

Pray, pray and pray

R.A. Torrey said in his book "How to Pray" Ephesians 6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

Comment "'I must pray, pray, pray, I must put all my energy and all my heart into prayer. Whatever else I do, I must pray.'"

I could really use your prayers today. I just heard from Global Outreach that my ministry account is over drawn again. I am running short each month about $3000. My sending church, Unity Baptist of Ashland, KY has helped me several times but this time there are no funds left. I am in the hole $1300 right now. Pray that money will come into replenish my accounts.

Also I need new churches and individuals who are willing to help me with the two ministries in Uganda. I can't do it without you! I need 30 church and individuals giving $100 a month or 60 individuals giving $50 a month. Please pray about helping me to give the gospel to the people of Uganda.

Home on Furlough

I hope I can do better at up dating this blog. My sister told me if I have a blog I should up date it. But like everyone time seems to slip away.

I am in the US for 8 months. I hope to be meeting some of you during my time at home.

Right now I am struggling with a mycoplasma pneumonia. Yes, those who follow my FB posts this has been hanging on. It even gave me such a problem when I got to go to Israel. I hope in 9 days I will be well.

I am also raising new supporters. I am praying for 20 new churches and individuals who will help me with $30 a month. That is a $1 a day. I can do so much with that . . . like $10 will buy a Bible for my women's training CWWC. Also $30 will buy about five bottles of 1000 tab of Panodol (Tylenol).

I hope I will hear from some of you.

Furlough

I told you that I would try to update weekly. I missed last week. Here is a brief up date.

I am on "furlough" in the States right now. "Furlough" gives the idea of rest from work. Not so for the missionary. I arrived home on October 31 and have had just a few days of rest. Some of the missionaries that I talk with say, "I can't wait to get back to the field to rest."

Just so you know I have not been laying around this has been the last 6 weeks schedule.

Nov. 6 spoke to Unity Baptist WMU. Who are a group of lovely ladies who support me with finances and prayers. They are some of my biggest fans.

Nov. 9 & 10 I went on retreat with my church to Greenbo State Park. Pastor Floyd Paris spoke on "Men are like Waffles and Women are like Spaghetti", he had us all laughing at the funny way we behave.

The week of Thanksgiving my sister and her family came to Ashland. We all went to see UK blow out Liberty University. Liberty is were me, my sister and her husband attended university. The blow out was 30+ points.

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Greenbo State Park. You can't beat it no cooking and no cleaning up.

On the last day of November I boarded a plane to spend 2 1/2 weeks in around Atlanta, GA. I have a lot of friends from this area and a lot of supports both financial and prayer.

I have spoke 4 times last week. I have a great devotion the Lord gave me for the Mt Vernon's Joyful Hearts Ministry tea. I hope you will take time to read it.

This week holds a lot of lunches and dinners with more friends. It is no wonder that a missionary will gain at least 20 pounds before going back to the field. It takes me the whole time I'm back on the field to lost that weight before we come home again.

Children's Clinic

The Children's Ward of the Jinja Hospital was redone in 2003. I have a staff of 10 who take care of the Outpatient Department. Besides staffing I also supply all the medicines needed for the OPD and the ward. We help from 150 - 200 children a day. Our biggest disease is Malaria.

Hi, I have been in Jinja, Uganda since 2002. My work is training rural women in Biblical studies, Health Education, and facilitating Adult Literacy. I also have the Children's Clinic of the OPD of the Children's Hospital in Jinja. We serve every day 150 - 200 children with all kinds of diseases.

I also work in Northern Uganda on the boarder of South Sudan in Moyo District. I help the Government hospital's children's ward with medicines serving both the children and the adult patients. A new laboratory has been donated there to help the People of the West Nile Region. I work for Global Outreach International which is a faith based ministry. I love what I do.
